The video footage inside the annual gala of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, courtesy of Vogue magazine, begins with the classic aria "Nessun Dorma" sung by Vittorio Grigolo (immortalized in the voice of Luciano Pavarotti).
However, the mood of the video quickly accelerates to a more modern sound with Bruno Mars on stage at the opening ceremony of the fashion show. Accompanied by a band with wind instruments, submission of Mars includes a dance in James Brown style and a verse sung into a megaphone.
Although "Runaway Baby" was not promoted as a single, this track "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" has proved a favorite of Mars for shows. The artist also chose this song to present the Grammy Awards program and the X Factor.
Mars also introduced versions of hits of Michael Jackson, Sting and Rick James, and has dedicated the song "Just The Way You Are" the fashion designer Miuccia Prada, "Miuccia, you're amazing, just as you are." Other guests included Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Rihanna, Mick Jagger, Florence and The Machine, Kanye West and more.
